The drive, aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving road infrastructure, led to the removal of several illegal and encroaching structures in the Poisar area, the officials said

The demolition drive was part of the ongoing efforts by the BMC to enhance the road's capacity to accommodate the growing traffic in the area, said officials

Several commercial establishments, including shops and eateries, were cleared to make way for the expansion of S.V. Road

Earlier this month, in a similar action, the BMC had demolished several encroachments on the JR Boricha Road near Lower Parel in central Mumbai

The drive had resulted in the removal of approximately 150 shanties and encroachments from the area, the officials had earlier said
