Amid the intense spells of rain, the India Meteorological Department on Tuesday issued an orange alert.
The orange alert was issued for Mumbai and other suburban districts, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next few hours.
Heavy rain showers on Monday and Tuesday have led to minor disruptions in traffic movement across some areas of the city, causing havoc among commuters.
With weather forecast agencies predicting heavy rainfall for the coming few days, Mumbaikars have been advised to plan their days accordingly.
