With Mumbai and Navi Mumbai receiving extremely heavy rainfall over the past few days, the situation in the city has been concerning. Several areas have been waterlogged, and with suspended transport leaving commuters stranded, Gurudwaras across the city have stepped forward to provide shelter, food, and assistance to those in urgent need.

Amid this crisis, the Maharashtra Sikh Association (MSA) announced that all Gurudwaras in the region will remain open round-the-clock to provide shelter, warmth, and Langar (community food) to anyone stranded due to the rains.

People unable to reach their homes because of waterlogged streets and disrupted transport can go to any Gurudwara for relief in an extraordinary humanitarian gesture.

Addressing this initiative, Bal Malkit Singh, convenor of the Maharashtra Sikh Association (MSA), stated, "As per the sacred teachings of our Guru Sahibs, the doors of Gurudwaras remain open 24x7, serving all humanity with food (Langar), warmth, and care in this hour of need."

Emphasising the Sikh tradition of seva (selfless service), Singh urged citizens, particularly those stranded near railway stations and heavily waterlogged areas, to seek immediate assistance at nearby Gurudwaras.
