PM marked the World Environment Day under "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative urging people across the country to plant a tree in their mother's name

Launched by the Prime Minister on World Environment Day in 2024, the initiative has evolved into a nationwide movement aimed at increasing green cover and promoting ecological awareness

During his visit to Surat, officials briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of major infrastructure and industrial projects, including expansion work aimed at boosting production capacity and improving logistics connectivity

After the plantation programme, Prime Minister Modi reviewed ongoing industrial operations in Hazira, one of Gujarat's most important manufacturing and industrial hubs

The Prime Minister assessed facilities linked to heavy engineering, manufacturing and strategic sectors, which play an important role in India's industrial and defence ecosystem

As one of India's major industrial hubs, Hazira continues to play a significant role in supporting manufacturing growth, infrastructure development and employment generation

The visit reflected the government's broader vision of promoting economic growth alongside environmental protection, with calls for greener lifestyles and sustainable practices.
