IND vs SA 2nd Test: Team India lose two quick wickets, post 27 at Stumps on Day 4

On Day 4 of the second Test match against South Africa, Team India posted 27 runs for the loss of two wickets at stumps at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati.

The hosts still need 522 runs and will be required to chase the remaining target in 90.1 overs when the play resumes on the final day of the second Test match.

With an attempt to chase the target, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul opened the innings for Team India. Facing 20 balls, Jaiswal's innings ended with a score of 13 runs, including a boundary and a maximum. On the other hand, Rahul managed to score just six runs in 29 balls.

Sai Sudharsan and Kuldeep Yadav are unbeaten at the crease. Sudharsan has so far scored just two runs after facing 25 balls, whereas Yadav, who has been sent as a night watchman, has garnered four runs in 22 deliveries.

South Africa's Marco Jansen and Simon Harmer bagged one wicket each. Bowling five overs, Jansen conceded 14 runs, while Harmer gave away just one run in 3.5 overs. Wiaan Mulder and Keshav Maharaj will continue their hunt to claim their first wicket. Mulder, in his four overs, has leaked six runs, whereas Maharaj was smashed for five runs in three overs.

Earlier, South Africa declared at the score of 260 runs for the loss of five wickets.

The declaration came after the Proteas secured a lead of 548 runs against Team India.

Tristan Stubbs' knock was the highlight of South Africa's innings. Facing 180 balls, he smashed 94 runs, which were laced with nine boundaries and a maximum.

South Africa's opening duo, Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton, registered scores of 35 and 29 runs, respectively. Facing 64 balls, Rickelton departed after smashing four boundaries, whereas Markram registered three boundaries, playing 84 balls.

Skipper Temba Bavuma returned to the pavilion after scoring three runs in 11 balls, while Tony de Zorzi missed his well-deserved half-century by just one run. He scored 49 runs in 68 balls, including four boundaries and a maximum.

Wiaan Mulder stayed unbeaten on 35 runs in 69 balls. His knock included five boundaries.

Ravindra Jadeja was the most successful bowler for Team India. Bowling 28.3 overs, he conceded 62 runs and claimed four wickets. Other than Jadeja, Washington Sundar bagged a wicket, leaking 67 runs in 22 overs.
