In the IPL 2026 match against Delhi Capitals (DC), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) emerged victorious by nine wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
During the match, RCB stalwart Virat Kohli played a knock of an unbeaten 23 runs off 15 deliveries, laced with a boundary and two maximums.
With this, he scripted history by becoming the first batsman in the history of the tournament to reach the feat of completing 9000 runs.
Speaking about Kohli's achievement, RCB's star all-rounder Krunal Pandya said that he has been one of the greatest to play the sport, and his achievements have been unbelievable.
"Virat Kohli has been one of the greatest who has played. The achievements he has had over the last 15-20 years have been unbelievable. To have that sort of consistency and the hunger he has is remarkable," he said during the post-match press conference.
"He has changed the way people see the sport from a fitness point of view. He has been the flagbearer of how the fitness culture has come in India," added Krunal.
The all-rounder is also hopeful of the right-handed batsman continuing his rich vein of form, which helps the team secure more victories.
"When you achieve a milestone, you get satisfaction that the effort you have put in is paying off. Everyone who works hard wants to see that result. He has achieved so much in his career. I have not asked him yet how he feels about 9,000 runs, but I hope he continues like this, wins us more matches and gives everyone happiness," the 35-year-old cricketer signed off.
After securing a humongous victory over the Capitals, Bengaluru's favourite men will now gear up to lock horns with the Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 30 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
