St Pius X (Mulund) won the inaugural Champions League inter-schools boys U-16 football tournament, organised by SCOREGOALS India, by defeating St Francis D’Assisi (Borivali) 2-1 at Azad Maidan


St Pius X (Mulund) won the inaugural Champions League inter-schools boys U-16 football tournament, organised by SCOREGOALS India, by defeating St Francis D'Assisi (Borivali) 2-1 at Azad Maidan.

An early goal by Akshit Michael in the first half helped St Pius X take a 1-0 lead. Michael then scored the second off a penalty. Yelstin D'Souza pulled one back for D'Assisi, who tried hard for the equaliser thereafter, but in vain.

Earlier, Swami Vivekanand (Kandivali) beat Dardar Parsee Youth Academy 5-4 via tie breaker to clinch third place.

In the girls under 16 category, St. Augustine's (Nerul) beat JB Petit (Fort) 2-0 to win the U-16 title. Jyoti Mehra and Reetika Sahani scored a goal each for St Augustine.
