Apple on Wednesday unveiled its most thrilling range of iPhones at its much-awaited ‘Surprise and Shine' event. The US tech giant introduced the new iPhone 18 series along with its first-ever foldable smartphone starting at USD 1,999 (Rs 1,90,00 approx) the ‘iPhone Duo'. Apple CEO John Ternus also unveiled other products and updates, marking one of its biggest product launches of the year.

The event, held at Apple Park in Cupertino, began at 10:30 pm IST. The launch was also significant, as it marked one of the first major Apple events under new CEO John Ternus.

The new iPhone lineup comes with upgrades across performance, cameras, battery life and design. Apple is also expected to expand its premium smartphone portfolio with its first foldable iPhone, making the 2026 event particularly significant for the company.

iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs 1,64,900

The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo have been launched at a price of Rs 1,64,900. While briefing about the latest-generation smartphones from Apple, Ternus also highlighted some exciting new features on the smartphones. Both models are expected to feature Apple's new-generation A20 Pro chipset, along with camera improvements and other hardware upgrades.

While the iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to remain the largest and most premium model in the conventional iPhone lineup, the iPhone Duo is something that headlined the Apple event.

Apple's first foldable iPhone unveiled

One of the biggest announcements at the event is Apple's entry into the foldable smartphone market.

Apple has unveiled the iPhone Duo, introducing what the company describes as the largest-ever display on an iPhone. The new device marks a major addition to Apple's iPhone lineup, combining a larger screen with stylus support aimed at users looking for a more versatile smartphone experience.

The iPhone Duo has been launched at a starting price of USD 1,999. Apple will begin accepting pre-orders on October 16, while the device will be available for purchase from October 23.

iPhone 18 availability in India

Apple will begin accepting pre-orders on October 16, while the device will be available for purchase from October 23.
