France: Top seed Novak Djokovic came through a testing start to his French Open campaign beating experienced Finn Jarkko Nieminen 6-2, 7-5, 6-2 in the first round.

Djokovic is seeking to win the French Open title for the first time. Bulgarian 10th seed Grigor Dimitrov suffered his second successive French Open first round exit, going down 7-6 (9/7), 6-2, 6-3 to Jack Sock of the United States.
