Toronto: A 33-year-old Indian-Canadian has been charged with the murder of another Indian-origin man in Canada.

Randeep Singh Match was charged yesterday for the murder of 35-year-old Tarsem Shane Dhaliwal, whose body was found in a vehicle in Surrey earlier this year, officials at the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said.

Dhaliwal was reported missing January 19 and his body was found two days later in Surrey, Vancouver Sun reported. According to IHIT spokeswoman Jennifer Pound, evidence led investigators to believe that "Dhaliwal met with foul play" and IHIT took over the case.

Match was arrested in Abbotsford on December 10, she added. Pound did not give any possible motive behind the killing as the matter is before the court, but confirmed that the victim and the accused were known to each other and that it was a targeted attack.
