In recent times, several star kids have followed in the footsteps of their actor or filmmaker parents and entered the film industry. Many wondered whether Nysa, daughter of actors Kajol and Ajay Devgn, might have similar interests and follow in the footsteps of her successful parents.

Was Nysa considered for Maa?

Recently, at the trailer launch of Kajol’s upcoming film Maa, producer Ajay Devgn was asked if their daughter Nysa was considered for the role of the daughter in the film.

Maa, which marks Kajol’s first-ever horror film, sees her play a fierce and protective mother. The role of her daughter is portrayed by Kherin Sharma.

At the event, Ajay Devgn—who produced the film along with Jyoti Santha Subbarayan—was asked if they had considered casting Nysa for the role of Kajol’s on-screen daughter. Responding to this, the actor said, “She is not interested in this kind of work.”

Kajol on daughter Nysa’s acting plans

Recently, Kajol was also asked whether her daughter, like many other star kids, is planning to join the film industry. Speaking at a News18 event, she addressed the speculation. When asked about Nysa’s Bollywood debut, she gave a clear and firm response:

“Bilkul nahi… no, I think… vo 22 saal ki ho gayi hai… hone wali hai abhi… I think she has made up her mind that ki nahi aane wali hai abhi.”
(“Definitely not… I think she is 22 years old—or about to be—and I think she has made up her mind not to join Bollywood at the moment.”)

Kajol and Ajay Devgn welcomed their daughter Nysa in 2003. They also have a son named Yug.

About Maa

In her most powerful avatar yet, Kajol steps into the realm of terror with MAA, a mythological horror by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, a chilling new chapter from the World of Shaitaan. The much-awaited trailer of MAA is finally here and it’s nothing short of spine-tingling.

Audience's anticipation is at its peak as Kajol dives into horror for the first time, leading a story soaked in ancient curses and divine rage. The intense posters of MAA has everyone talking and now the trailer promises to raise the bar.

Directed by Vishal Furia and featuring Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma and Ronit Roy, MAA, is the story of a mother who becomes Kali to end a demonic curse rooted in fear, blood, and betrayal.
