Salman singing again
Everyone seems to be cashing in on Valentine’s week by re-releasing romantic films, or unveiling new songs. Yesterday, Salman Khan shared a dekko of the first romantic number, Naiyo lagda, from his Eid offering, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Composed by Himesh Reshammiya, and penned by Shabbir Ahmed, the melodious track has been rendered by Palak Muchhal and Kamaal Khan. What many don’t know is that the actor-producer has also sung a song in the album. “At this point, details about Salman’s song are being closely guarded. He plans to unveil his track closer to the film’s release,” says an insider.
Sid-Kiara’s grand finale
On Thursday, the Malhotras hosted a party at their Delhi home to celebrate Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s wedding. Yesterday, the newly-weds landed in Mumbai, ahead of the grand reception that will be held this evening at a SoBo five-star hotel for their industry friends and colleagues. A source says, “Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, as well as Sidharth’s first co-actors Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt have been invited. Besides them, the couple has invited several producers and directors.” The newly-weds continue to win hearts on social media with their wedding pictures. Netizens are particularly loving a video that sees the bride arrive at the venue with the Shershaah song, Ranjha, playing in the background.
Legal battle ahead
Things are getting uglier between Nawazuddin Siddiqui and estranged wife Aaliya. She recently shared a video of their interaction, online. In the video, the actor, who had gone to meet Aaliya at her residence, can be heard saying that he halted his shooting to visit his kids. Along with the video, Aaliya wrote, “I regret giving my 18 years to a man who [doesn’t] value me.” She added that he always “disrespected” his ex-girlfriends, and his ex-wife. Last heard, she is planning to divorce the actor, and fight for the kids’ custody.
All clear for Kartik’s next
Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s Shehzada, the release of which was deferred by a week as a mark of “respect for Pathaan”, has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification. Director Rohit Dhawan’s remake of the Telugu blockbuster, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, has been rated U/A by the Censor Board. Said to be about two hours and 25 minutes long, the family entertainer also features a recreated version of Salman Khan’s hit song, Character dheela, from Ready (2011). Earlier this month, the makers shot the track with Kartik in Madh Island.
A series for Sikandar
Director Ram Madhvani, who is working on the third season of Aarya, recently expressed his desire to create a spin-off series on Sikandar Kher’s character, Daulat. The director said that he is deeply impressed by Sikandar’s restrained performance. “There is a certain sensitivity, hurt, vulnerability, emotion and guilt in Daulat — all of which came through without [him] saying anything; [instead], he emoted with his eyes,” said Ram. Stating that there is a Samurai quality to Daulat, the filmmaker added, “I want to make a film or series on Daulat alone.” He also shared that at some point, he would love to make a comedy centred on a Samurai character. Delighted with the idea, Sikandar encouraged him to put his plan into action. “The thought is amazing. It’s so spoofy and crazy. You will make a great comedy director since you laugh genuinely at things,” the actor said to the filmmaker.
An actor’s life
Not one to be bogged down by myositis, Samantha is continuing her work as usual. Recently, she shared a social media post as she went through the treatment at home. The actor, who is taking IVIG injections for antibodies, wrote, “Monthly IVIG party! New normal!” Sam also shared a video that sees her training for her next web series, Raj-DK’s Indian version of Russo Brothers’ Citadel. She is currently shooting for the action thriller series with co-star Varun Dhawan.
Superhero once more
The buzz in B-Town is that after opting out of Nitesh Tiwari’s retelling of the Ramayana, Hrithik Roshan is prioritising his home production, Krrish 4. The actor is said to have finalised the script of his superhero film with his filmmaker-father, Rakesh Roshan. Duggu has reportedly asked his team to suggest a suitable title for the film. What’s more, he is open to the idea of an international director helming the fourth instalment, which will be high on VFX.
