Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit’s 1991 film 100 Days continues to reign as one of the most iconic horror movies, even more than three decades after its release. Amid its craze, the classic is now being adapted as a web show by its original producer, Jay Mehta.

According to an India Today report, the show will feature Abhishek Kumaarr and Srishti Singh in the lead roles. The report also claims that while the shoot for the series is almost complete, it is expected to launch sometime by the end of the year. As per sources, the series will be available on Amazon MX Player's vertical platform, MX Fatafat, in the form of a micro drama.

A source reportedly told them, "Keeping up with today's time and the evolved audience, the makers have decided to make alterations to the storyline and how it is presented. The makers have added elements so that today’s generation can relate yet experience something new."

Jay confirmed the news saying, "I had made the film 100 Days, which was based on premonitions. Now, we are making an adaptation for the web with a new twist."

The lead actor of the show, Abhishek Kumaarr, shared, "I came to Bombay about 8 -10 years ago, and when you get an offer like this, you feel very grateful. This film has been a cult. The actors who played these roles have become idols. For me, my parents and I feel very proud that something like this has come my way.”

The Kumkum Bhagya actor further added, “It’s a thrilling story, so you have to maintain that pace. Today’s audience wants everything fast - quick scenes, constant engagement. That time has gone where people would wait. So while we’ve kept the soul of the original, the treatment is fast-paced, gripping, and very today. This will be a vertical micro-drama, but of course, the production value is much bigger than other micro-dramas.”

About 100 Days

The original 1991 100 Days circles around the eerie and mysterious experiences of a woman who possesses an extrasensory perception. Interestingly, the horror film is a remake of the 1984 Tamil film named Nooravathu Naal, which, itself, is believed to be an unofficial adaptation of the 1977 Italian giallo classic Sette Note in Nero (The Psychic or Seven Notes in Black) as well as the American thriller Eyes of Laura Mars.
