Melodious as Aap Jaisa Koi’s album is, the song Mila Tujhe has become a favourite of many for its lilting vocals and soft music. Among its fans is Prateeksha Srivastava, who made her playback debut with the number. “It’s the kind of song that transcends trends. It has a vintage charm, a modern sonic sensibility, and heartfelt melody that appeal across generations,” she said of the song that features lead actors R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
Interestingly, the track was recorded in 2022, but released only in July 2025. Did the three-year delay affect her anticipation? Srivastava, who is joined by Vishal Mishra behind the mic, said, “To be honest, I detach after recording. Especially in playback, you never know what happens next. It’s healthier that way.”

Having trained in Hindustani classical singing, Srivastava believes her grounding gives her a distinct edge. So, how did she react when her background in classical music blended with Justin Prabhakaran’s tune for the romantic number? Reflecting on hearing the final mix, she recalled, “I felt like I was in a Bollywood ballroom, dancing to a love ballad. I enjoyed my own voice, which is rare.” She is now looking forward to her debut EP, Tiny Truths.
