In the latest sneak peek from Prime Video’s upcoming reality show, The Traitors, tensions reach a fever pitch as players begin to turn on each other, and the paranoia starts to take its toll. The fight to unmask the Traitor has officially begun, turning allies into threats and doubts into daggers. Apoorva Mukhija calls Maheep Kapoor a traitor Apoorva turns the tables with a chilling accusation, “100% Maheep is a traitor.” What begins as a pointed suspicion soon unravels into something far more personal. “Get some acting classes. You’re literally Bollywood Wives.” The words hit hard—sharp, intentional, and impossible to ignore. Is Maheep really the Traitor? Or has Apoorva misjudged her? The truth is still buried and only time will say. Maheep, meanwhile, remains composed. “Sabki asliyat aati hai bahar,” she states with calm conviction—a line that feels more like a warning shot. She’s clearly unbothered, playing her own game while chaos brews around her. Uorfi shares her observation While some attack, others crack. Elnaaz admits, “I’m starting to shake,” her nerves exposing the pressure cooker this palace has become. Uorfi, ever observant, points out that players are being provoked by one person—and blindly following their lead. Who is she hinting at? With the circle tightening and the pressure building, each move, word, and whisper could mean the difference between survival and sabotage. Meet the 20 contestants of The Traitors The maiden season of the reality series, teeming with treachery and deception, will feature an explosive mix of 20 celebrities, including Anshula Kapoor, Apoorva, Ashish Vidyarthi, Elnaaz Norouzi, Harsh Gujral, Jannat Zubair, Janvi Gaur, Jasmine Bhasin, Karan Kundrra, Lakshmi Manchu, Maheep Kapoor, Mukesh Chhabra, Nikita Luther, Purav Jha, Raftaar, Raj Kundra, Sahil Salathia, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sufi Motiwala, and Urfi Javed, as they try to deceive each other in this ultimate battle of will and wit. The show will see the 20 players arrive at the royal Suryagarh Palace in Rajasthan with a single objective: to win the title and the significant cash prize amassed through various physical and psychological missions. Identified as ‘innocents,’ players must find and eliminate the ‘traitors’ from among them, who are carefully and secretly chosen at the beginning of the show by the host, Karan Johar. In a power play of vicious betrayals, cold-hearted deception, and constant manipulations, the traitors will need to eliminate the innocents… unless the innocents can identify them before it’s too late! From bold proclamations to fiery exchanges, secretive plotting, shocking accusations, and emotional breakdowns—the trailer offers a sneak peek into the unmissable drama that The Traitors promises, and much more. The Traitors premieres exclusively on Prime Video on June 12, with new episodes every Thursday at 8 PM.

The film is written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Rider. Meanwhile, Pete Davidson was recently seen in the horror thriller 'The Home'. As per the Hollywood Reporter, in the film, Davidson plays Max, a young man sentenced to community service, caring for the elderly in a quiet retirement home with a dark secret. DeMonaco describes the film as a spine-chilling horror thriller that captures the eerie suspense of 1970s horror classics. 10 June,2025 11:54 AM IST | Mumbai | ANIReturning to a show’s set for a second season is an alien feeling to Abhishek Banerjee, even though he has been part of several popular series, including Paatal Lok and Mirzapur. “Rana Naidu is the only show where I am alive in the second season,” he grins. Banerjee plays the protagonist’s younger brother in the Netflix series that stars Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, Surveen Chawla, and Arjun Rampal. Shooting for the action drama’s second edition was not only a novel experience for the actor, but also freeing. “In the first season, you’re still building your character. After you watch yourself perform, you know where you lacked. The second instalment is actually where you’re playing and enjoying the character because you don’t have any insecurities about it,” he explains. Before focusing single-mindedly on acting, Banerjee handled casting through Casting Bay, which he co-founded with Anmol Ahuja. Incidentally, while he switched gears to acting, he also noticed a shift in the industry — the emerging practice of casting influencers and actors depending on their social media following. He says, “I stopped casting actively right when this became a trend. I have always worked with creators and producers who have fought for the right actors because eventually no matter how famous you are on Instagram, your acting skills have to do justice to the character. It’s about casting right for a particular show. For instance, Rana Daggubati is the right choice for Rana Naidu. Venky [Venkatesh] sir seems like his character. Nobody checked how many followers they have. I don’t think the norm [of choosing actors on the basis of their followers] will survive the test of time.” Films on which Abhishek Banerjee worked as a casting director:. The Dirty Picture (2011). Secret Superstar (2017). The Sky is Pink (2019). Angrezi Medium (2020). Qala (2022)

09 June,2025 12:19 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentFilmmaker Anurag Kashyap has slammed Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos’ comment about launching Sacred Games as Netflix India’s first original series. Sacred Games was the first Indian original series ever produced by Netflix. The series, based on the book of the same name by Vikram Chandra, was directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. It starred Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Anurag Kashyap calls Netflix CEO 'dumb' Recently, Sarandos stated that the show was not the ideal way to enter the Indian market. Kashyap reacted strongly to Sarandos’ statement and didn’t mince his words while sharing his opinion. He shared a screenshot of an article referencing Sarandos' comment and wrote, “He should have started with Saas-Bahu… he would have done well. Which he is doing now. I always knew the tech guys are dumb when it comes to storytelling, but @tedsarandos is the definition of dumb — that I didn’t know. Good to discover that. This explains everything now.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap10) What Ted Sarandos said In an appearance on Nikhil Kamath’s podcast, Sarandos said that it is difficult to crack into the Indian market, as people in the country are suspicious of subscriptions. Talking about not being able to tap much into the Indian market, he said, “It took us a couple of years to get the product-market fit right. Our very first Indian original show was Sacred Games. And I thought, ‘This is going to be great. People in India love movies. This is a TV show that feels as big as a movie — it has movie stars.’ What’s interesting about it is that it was very, very novel. But what I didn’t understand was that we were introducing a brand new kind of entertainment in a country the size of India.” He continued, “For me, if I did it all over again, would I have done Sacred Games a couple of years later and done things that were more populist instead? Maybe. But we knew that India was going to be a slower journey to get to where we wanted to be. But it’s a great prize at the end of the day. The addressable market is growing in the next couple of years in India, so it’s exciting.” Sacred Games was cancelled after two seasons on the platform.

07 June,2025 05:21 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentEven after Surveen Chawla wrapped up Rana Naidu’s first season over two years ago, she couldn’t shed her character of Naina Naidu. That’s why returning to the set for the series’ second season felt like homecoming to her. “While you’re doing a part, there is a residual to it, and you know there will be a second season. So, subconsciously, you don’t leave the character. I didn’t ever leave Naina. I knew her arc was incomplete. So, I left it open-ended,” says Chawla, who is joined by Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, and Arjun Rampal in the Netflix series. Lately, a discourse around the industry’s stance on new mothers has emerged in the wake of the Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga fallout. The two, who were to collaborate on Spirit, had a disagreement when Padukone reportedly wanted an eight-hour shift, among several demands, as she was a new mother. When we ask Chawla, who welcomed parenthood in 2019, about her experience in the industry, she says, “I speak only for myself. I did a Netflix show soon after I became a mom, and I had all the support. I know there is a lot at stake. Beyond a point, I’m sure I cannot be accommodated for. But at that time, I got a lot of flexibility from my makers and the platform. If somebody really wants to cast you, they will accommodate [your needs]. And if it doesn’t fit your demands, then you have to be okay with it. You need to prioritise [your needs]. You have to be pragmatic and not expect the world to bow down at your feet.”

05 June,2025 12:34 PM IST | Mumbai | ANIKate Hudson, star and executive producer of Netflix's basketball dramedy 'Running Point,' has heaped praise on co-creator and fellow executive producer Mindy Kaling for her unwavering dedication to the show. And she's just not only so brilliant, but so trusting... she puts the best team together." 04 June,2025 12:11 PM IST | Mumbai | ANIWhat’s Hansal Mehta’s next after Gandhi, said to be his most ambitious work to date? Murmurs over the past few months suggested that in a departure from his penchant for real-life stories, the filmmaker was set to explore a business drama (New show on the cards, Feb 21). Now, mid-day has learnt that Mehta is ready to take the web series on floors in Sri Lanka this month. The Netflix offering, starring Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma, tells the story of power, money, and morals through two business rivals whose ugly clash sends shockwaves in the financial world. Raima Sen and Neha Dhupia also feature in the Netflix series, for which Hansal Mehta has roped in an eclectic ensemble cast Last month, Mehta apparently headed to Sri Lanka for a recce for the big-budget drama that is produced by Vikram Malhotra. A source reveals, “Hansal and Vikram are keeping everything under wraps. With Anil and Vijay playing high-flying business magnates, the series will be shot across Mumbai, Sri Lanka, Serbia, and Georgia. The series — written by Niren Bhatt, Ankur Pathak, and Nikhil Nair — is an incisive look at the cut-throat nature of today’s financial world, where money, manipulation, and greed are part of the game. Anil and Vijay’s characters, though ruthless in their individual pursuit of power and wealth, are shown to have contrasting ideologies and work ethics. That sets the stage for a showdown, and the story follows how they take on each other. If things go as planned, it will be shot in a straight schedule from June to September.” Hansal Mehta and Vikram Malhotra Joining the male leads in the drama are Neha Dhupia and Raima Sen. “Hansal is bringing together an eclectic ensemble cast. Neha and Raima portray strong women who wield power in their own way and exert influence in the big boys’ club,” adds the source. From Shahid (2012) to Aligarh (2015), from Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story (2020) to Scoop (2023), Mehta has created an enviable filmography based on true stories. However, the source says that this time, the creator-director has built a fictional world, one set in a field rarely seen on Indian screens. “While the West has had sterling business dramas, Indian OTT entertainment hasn’t quite explored the genre. Hansal and Vikram wanted to tap into the genre by weaving a tale of ambition and betrayal.” mid-day reached out to Malhotra and Mehta. Both remained unavailable for comment.
