A powerful nitrogen cylinder explosion was reported in a factory located opposite the Kaman area, Naigaon, near Mumbai on Monday around 4-4.30 pm, triggering panic in the surrounding areas.
A 20-year-old worker has been critically injured in the incident. He was immediately rushed to the Bhaktivedanta Hospital in Bhayander, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Responding to the incident, officials from Naigaon Police Station visited the site and have begun a probe into the causes of the explosion.
“We have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion and to verify if the factory was adhering to safety norms,” said Assistant Police Inspector Manisha Patil from Naigaon Police Station. Further action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation, she added.
