Teams from Western and Central Railway reached Mumbai’s T1 and T2 airports on Sunday morning to assist passengers stranded due to the Indigo flight crisis

“We have set up helpdesks at both airports to guide passengers about additional trains and assist with ticket bookings,” Western Railway chief public relations officer Vineet Abhishek told mid-day.

After adding over 100 extra coaches to long-distance trains, the Ministry of Railways has now announced several special trains to manage the surge in passengers.

Indian Railways has launched 84 special trains to help those affected by widespread flight cancellations.

These services aim to ease travel for thousands of stranded passengers. All railway zones are adding more trains and resources,” an official said.
