Throughout the day, women staff handled every aspect of station management, including ticketing, security, passenger assistance and housekeeping, ensuring smooth and efficient services for commuters travelling through the two stations.

According to MMRC officials, the initiative was aimed at recognising the contribution of women in public transport and highlighting their expanding role in the functioning of Mumbai’s metro network.

Officials said the initiative symbolises a step towards creating a more inclusive public transport system, with women increasingly leading from the front in shaping the future of urban mobility in Mumbai.
