Party leader says merely returning bar license doesn’t absolve anyone of a crime; Sena UBT leader Anil Parab reiterated that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis should take action and ask Yogesh Kadam to resign from the cabinet

The Shiv Sena UBT camp upped its attack on Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam as the latter’s family returned the dance bar license. The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena MLA from the Dapoli Assembly constituency of Ratnagiri district in the coastal Konkan region is facing flak over a dance bar in Kandivli.
On Friday, Sena UBT leader Anil Parab reiterated that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis should take action and ask Yogesh Kadam to resign from the cabinet. “If they (Kadam) had done nothing wrong, what was the need to return the license? Returning a license does not absolve anyone of the crime,” Parab said while speaking to reporters in Mumbai.
In the past, the premises has been raided four times with cases registered for running a dance bar. “The bar was raided thrice in 2023. It was raided again in 2025. There has been repeated violation of the law (indulging in activities banned in Maharashtra) by a hotel owned by the minister’s family. How can one who is responsible for maintaining law and order be connected to anything that is involved in illegal activity?” Parab questioned.
Kadam and his family have been denying the allegations since the time they were made. Last month, during the monsoon session of the state legislature, Parab on the floor of the house exhibited the Mumbai police FIR regarding a bar that is in the name of Kadam’s mother. Parab, along with other Opposition members, urged Fadnavis to take action against the erring minister in the Mahayuti government.
Intensifying its attack against Kadam, the UBT camp even pressed for action against the minister in connection with the illegal sand mining case. “We have all the evidence to prove our allegations. A pen drive containing evidence will be given to the chief minister. We expect the CM to take stern action against Kadam. It will send the wrong message if Fadnavis fails to act,” Parab added.
