A taxi driver sustained injuries on Wednesday morning after a roadside tree collapsed onto his vehicle in Dadar (West).
According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), the incident occurred at around 10:08 am on L J Road, near Shobha Hotel, in the Shivaji Park area in Dadar (West). The impact left the taxi driver injured, and he was rushed to Bandra’s Bhabha Hospital for treatment.
Hospital officials identified the injured as Salman Khan, 35, who has been admitted for further medical care. The cause of the tree fall is yet to be ascertained, and further details are awaited.
Vacated MHADA building collapses in Byculla
Earlier, on August 4, a vacant MHADA building in Byculla West fully collapsed, though no injuries were reported, according to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB).
The incident was reported at 2:02 am on August 3, 2025. The structure, identified as the Madanpura Post Office Building—a ground-plus-three (G+3) construction—had already been vacated due to its classification as a C1 category building, marking it as highly dilapidated and dangerous for occupancy.
Initially, the rear portions of the first and third floors had collapsed. However, by 11:36 am on August 4, officials confirmed that the entire building had given way.
Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police, MHADA, and BMC ward staff, along with an 108 ambulance, were quickly mobilised to the site. MHADA staff remained present at the location to assess the situation.
Authorities were confirmed that no injuries occurred in the incident.
Three, including two children, injured after house wall collapse in Bhandup
Meanwhile, three people, including two children, were injured when a house wall collapsed near a nullah in Bhandup on June 24, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
The incident occurred at Punjabi Chawl in Hanuman Nagar, Bhandup West, around 7:01 am, according to officials from the BMC’s S Ward Control.
Emergency services, including teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), local police, and BMC ward staff, were promptly deployed to the site.
The injured were identified as Vanita Vishwas Sawant (65), Yogesh Mashir Pal (5), and Manisha Mashir Pal (9). All three were rushed to M T Agarwal Hospital, where they were treated on an outpatient basis. Hospital authorities confirmed that their condition is stable.
