Opposition leaders came down heavily over Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ramesh Bidhuri’s communal remarks against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Danish Ali in Lok Sabha on Thursday and sought strict action against him. BSP MP Danish Ali said that he hasn’t been able to sleep after listening to the communal slur made by Ramesh Bidhuri. He said, “I sent my letter to the office of Lok Sabha Speaker and I am confident that Lok Sabha Speaker will take cognizance of the incident and will take appropriate action. I have given notice. All things are on record and it's happening for the first that this type of language has been used for an elected MP.”

He further stated that several rounds were fired and that some persons had arranged weapons to disturb the peace, law and order in the region. In addition, he stated that the government does not want to rush to a conclusion without conducting a comprehensive investigation, and that internet connections would be restored after the situation in the region improves.

Security has been strengthened in the districts adjoining Nuh, Faridabad, Palwal, and Gurugram in light of the violence that broke out between two groups on July 31. On July 31, a clash broke out between two groups in Haryana’s Nuh and violence continued. Several cars, and properties were damaged on August 1 as well. In Nuh, Section 144 has been imposed and mobile internet services have been suspended. On August 01, fresh violence was reported from Gurugram in Badshahpur and on Sohna road. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar yesterday said he suspected a “conspiracy” behind these clashes. Khattar called the Nuh violence incident “unfortunate” and said that clashes broke out at several places and that a big conspiracy seems to be behind the violence.

A total of five people have died including two home guards who were shot dead after a clash broke out on Monday. Post the clashes between two groups in Nuh, a curfew has been imposed in the area.
