He said, “We all are in the midst of a change and transformation, it’s not only geo-political change but also geo-economic as well as technological changes. In such an era, modern militaries must be ready to fight, while they prepare themselves for future conflicts. To keep pace with this change, the military and scientific community, developers, and entrepreneurs must identify key technological trends so that we remain ahead of the curve.”

Rekha Singh, widow of Galwan hero Naik Deepak Singh who was killed in Galwan Valley clashes has now become an army officer. Lieutenant Rekha Singh was commissioned into the army recently. Her husband, Naik Deepak Singh was martyred in action while fighting Chinese soldiers on June 15, 2020 in the Galwan Vallery. The attack had claimed the lives of 20 soldiers in 2020.

In a positive proposal that if accepted, will boost gender equality and will further empower the women in the Indian Army. The Army has sent a proposal to the Government to commission women officers into the Indian Army’s Corps of Artillery, informed Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande on January 12 in Delhi at a press conference. The Army Chief informed about Army Martial Arts Routine that will help in dealing with combat situations. “Women officers would be commissioned into the Indian Army’s Corps of Artillery. We have sent the proposal to the government and we hope that it will be accepted,” the Army Chief said. “We also have the Army Martial Arts Routine (AMAR) which will help in dealing with combat situations. It is an amalgamation of different martial arts in the country,” he added

On September 30, The newly-appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Lt General (Retd) Anil Chauhan laid the wreath at National War Memorial in Delhi. The new CDS was appointed on September 28. He had retired as the Eastern Army Commander in May last year and was serving as the Military Advisor to the National Security Council. Lt General Anil Chauhan will be the 2nd CDS of the country after General Bipin Rawat. Gen Bipin Rawat died in a helicopter crash in December 2021 in Tamil Nadu.
