Samay Raina thanks Alia Bhatt and Sharvari by booking an entire theatre for Alpha

Alia Bhatt's recent appearance on India's Got Latent 2 has been receiving mixed reviews. The actress appeared on Samay Raina's show with Alpha co-star Sharvari. As the film releases, it has recorded a modest opening and received a mixed response. Amid this, Samay Raina revealed that he booked an entire theatre as a small gesture to thank Sharvari and Alia.

In an Instagram post, Samay announced, "Tomorrow I'm going to watch Alpha in Mumbai. I have booked an entire theatre, and I will send 250 of you guys tickets on WhatsApp (if you are registered on my pre-sale list). It's just a small gesture from me to show love to Alia and Sharvari for being soooo cool that they came on my show's first episode. Love them both and super excited to see their movie! See you guys tomorrow!"

To note, the episode marked comedian Samay Raina's return with India's Got Latent following the controversy surrounding its previous season. Alia recalled the experience of filming the episode, saying the constant laughter even affected her heart rate, as her tracker indicated that she was very stressed.

Before Samay, Alia's mentor Karan Johar gave a shout-out to Alpha on Saturday. In his post, he stated that the film had made a "solid start" despite the ongoing struggle to bring audiences back to cinemas. He continued, "The stardom, theatrical pull, and unquestionable talent of Alia Bhatt, along with the impact of a big-screen spectacle, are undebatable. YRF has a continuing franchise and an endeavour to create theatrical tentpole experiences that need our applause and not any toxicity!"

About Alpha

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the lead and is the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe. The cast also includes Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in prominent roles. While many praised YRF's first-ever female-led action film, others criticised its plot. Some netizens even dubbed it "Reverse Dhurandhar."

The film follows a highly trained assassin, Sita, who was raised in isolation as a super-soldier by a rogue commander. Now grown up, Alia's character has learned the truth and wants to exact revenge. She learns about her twin, Durga, and teams up with her to kill Bobby Deol.
