Dil Raju confirms project with Akshay Kumar, reacts to 'outdated speculations' around the film

A few days back, reports were rife that Salman Khan is in advanced talks with South director Vamsi Paidipally and producer Dil Raju for a big masala movie. While there is no new information on that front, the producer is currently developing a film fronted by Akshay Kumar. In an official statement, the producer's team shared that they are developing a project with Akshay Kumar. They also requested all to not spread any misinformation regarding the project as it was rumoured that it is the remake of a South film.

In their statement, Dil Raju's team said, "In light of recent rumours and ongoing speculation surrounding the upcoming projects of Producer Dil Raju and Sri Venkateswara Creations, we wish to clarify that these reports are entirely baseless and have been blown out of proportion. Several outdated speculations are being linked to current developments, which is inaccurate."

They added, "We are presently developing a project with Akshay Kumar that will be directed by Anees Bazmee. The film is currently in the pre-production stage, and we will share official details in due course."

The team also requested media outlets to avoid spreading unconfirmed information: "We humbly request members of the media to refrain from drawing conclusions or circulating speculative information without confirmation from our end."

Is Akshay and Dil Raju's film a remake?

Several reports on the internet suggested that Akshay Kumar's film with Dil Raju and Anees Bazmee is the Hindi remake of the Venkatesh Daggubati-starrer Sankranthiki Vasthunam. The film revolves around former IPS officer YD Raju's investigation into a high-profile kidnapping case. However, we have been informed that there is no truth to the film being a remake and is just a misunderstanding.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has multiple films lined up, including Haiwaan, Bhagam Bhaag 2, Welcome To The Jungle, and Hera Pheri 3, along with a couple of other projects that are being kept under wraps. The actor was last seen on the big screen in the film Jolly LLB 3 along with Arshad Warsi. Before that, Akshay was seen in Kesari 2 and Housefull 5. The actor is currently busy with the final shoot schedule of Haiwaan with filmmaker Priyadarshan.
