Superstar Aamir Khan has reportedly leased four sea-facing flats in Bandra West. He will apparently be paying a combined monthly rent of R24.5 lakh. He will be staying in the new rented apartment with his family. Sources suggest that the likely reason for the move is the upcoming redevelopment of the housing society where Aamir currently resides. The flats are located in a high end apartment in Pali Hill, very close to Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat, which too is undergoing renovation.
Following the massive success of Saiyaara, debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda are reportedly revising their market value. Reports suggest that both the actors were initially paid between Rs 15-20 lakh for the Yash Raj-backed romantic drama, but that figure is expected to rise significantly as new projects come their way. The buzz is that both actors are flooded with offers, and they are already in the early stages of negotiations. Their quoting fees are now in the range of R35-50 lakh. Saiyaara has grossed approximately Rs 500 crore globally, cementing its leads as rising stars.
The buzz is that Ananya Panday and Munjya (2024) actor Abhay Verma are being considered to headline Choomantar, an upcoming sci-fi romantic comedy, backed by Maddock Films. Apparently, blending science fiction, romance, and comedy, the film is expected to go on floors by year-end, with pre-production starting in September. Tarun Dudeja, known for Dhak Dhak (2023), is reportedly on board to direct. If finalised, this would mark Abhay's second film with the production house, after Munjya. The actor will also be seen in Shah Rukh Khan's King and a Netflix series on Operation Safed Sagar. Meanwhile, this would be Ananya's first collaboration with Dinesh Vijan's banner. She also has Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri with Kartik Aaryan, and the second season of Call Me Bae in her kitty.
Megastar Rajinikanth has heaped praise on his Coolie co-star Nagarjuna, lauding his good looks and gracious nature. At a recent promotional event in Chennai, the 74-year-old quipped, "I have lost all my hair, but Nagarjuna looks even younger than when we worked together 33 years ago." The two shared the screen in V Ravichandran's action crime thriller, Shanti Kranti (1991). Calling Nagarjuna's antagonist, Simon, "the biggest attraction" in Coolie, Rajinikanth shared that he was surprised that the Telugu star accepted the role after six narrations. "He doesn't need money. He's always played the hero," he said, adding that Nagarjuna's fitness is courtesy his diet, exercise and early dinners. Aamir Khan, who makes a cameo in the film, was also present at the event. Coolie, releases on August 14, and will clash with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's War 2.
Indian animated epic mythological action film Mahavatar Narsimha has grossed over R100 crore globally in just 10 days since it arrived in cinemas on July 25. It is presented by Hombale Films, the makers of blockbuster movies like KGF series, Kantara (2022), and Salaar (2023). The team recently announced they have begun work on the next chapter in the franchise, Mahavatar Parasuram.
