‘Music was in my subconscious’: Housefull 2 actress Shazahn Padamsee on making her singing debut

Growing up, actor Shazahn Padamsee regularly saw her pop singer-mother Sharon Prabhakar create new music. It was always a part of her life. But it's only now that Shazahn, daughter of late theatre doyen and ad guru Alyque Padamsee, is stepping into the world of music with her single, Raatan Kaaliyan.

"In my growing-up years, my mom was always singing, and there were always rehearsals going on. So, music was there at the back of my mind and in my subconscious," said Shazahn, before revealing that she trained for nearly a decade before taking the leap. "Just because singing has been my hobby for so many years doesn't mean that I know it completely. I went back to the basics."

The result is Raatan Kaaliyan. The track reflects how her understanding of love has evolved. "The right kind of love brings out the best qualities in you. It's not about finding someone to complete you," she stated.
