Ikkis is all set to release in theatres on January 1, 2026. The film is based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Ahead of its big screen release, the film has cleared the censor process. According to reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked the makers for certain modifications ahead of clearance.

The CBFC had reportedly demanded changes in the opening scenes and end credits. This included the addition of acknowledgements for the Poona Horse Regiment, Colonel Hanut Singh, and the tank crew in text as well as the voiceover in the opening disclaimer. The board also allegedly asked for a consent letter from a member of the Khetarpal family, given the genre of the film. It also requested documents for scenes based on true events.

Additionally, in the second half of the film, the tank's name has been asked to be deleted. Besides, a 15-second dialogue about India and Pakistan relations was asked to be removed from the film's final cut. After asking for alcohol brand names to be blurred and an anti-smoking static, the movie was passed by the CBFC with a U/A 13+ certificate on December 15.

About Ikkis

Ikkis is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan. It revolves around the inspiring story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The brave soldier took on the enemy head-on during the Battle of Basantar and destroyed 10 Pakistani tanks before losing his life.

The film stars Agastya Nanda in the lead role along with Simar Bhatia, both of whom make their debut with the film. It also features Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher, and Deepak Dobriyal in significant roles.

As per the Bollywood Hungama report, "Ikkis is distributed by Jio Studios, which is also the distributor as well as the producer of Dhurandhar. Hence, they have no qualms now if Dhurandhar's shows reduce, since the Ranveer Singh starrer has already done huge business. Moreover, it will enter its fifth week on Friday, January 2. Accordingly, they have asked for around 30-40 per cent showcasing for Ikkis."
