Priyanka Chopra
With relentless hardwork, Priyanka Chopra has carved a niche for herself not only in Bollywood but also in Hollywood. However, her early days were not easy. Speaking at the BRIDGE Summit in Abu Dhabi, the actor reflected on her choices in her early 20s and stated how she was greedy to work. She also shared how she sacrificed visiting her father at the hospital when he was ill.
At the event, Priyanka candidly shared, "When I first started working, I was not selective at all. Whatever work I would get, I would do because it's a privilege to just get work⦠I would say yes to everything. I was really greedy in my 20s. I wanted to work every day."
She quoted Beyoncé and shared, "I feel like I am on the other side of my sacrifice. I worked really hard, I missed birthdays, I missed when my father was in the hospital. I should have maybe spent every day with him, but he would chase me back to set. I missed Christmases, Diwali, I missed time with my family. Because it's romanticised with young people - if you don't work hard, you don't deserve success. Which isn't true either."
She further added, "But there is a time for everything. That time, I needed to work that hard. That 20-year-old me needed to make those sacrifices for this woman to have the life that I have now. If I hadn't done that then, I wouldn't be at a place where I have the privilege to be selective. Now I can choose when I want to say yes."
In the summit, the actress also shared how she had no pivot and said yes to every opportunity. She even shared how six flops in a row in one year impacted her career.
On the work front, Priyanka was last seen in the Amazon Prime Video action film Heads of State. She is currently busy filming SS Rajamouli's ambitious Telugu project Varanasi alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film's first look was unveiled at a grand event, and PeeCee's speech won hearts. She also has two major Hollywood projects, The Bluff and Judgment Day. Their release dates are not yet confirmed.
