2025 VMAs nominations: BLACKPINK’s Rosé nominated in 8 categories; BTS' Jimin races for the best K-Pop song

The 2025 Video Music Awards (VMAs) nominations have been announced, marking a big moment for K-pop. BLACKPINK`s Rose tied with Sabrina Carpenter for the second-highest number of nominations for a female artist, behind only Lady Gaga, who leads with 12 nominations

The nominations for the 2025 Video Music Awards (VMAs) are out, and it appears to be another blinging era for the K-pop world. BLACKPINK member Rosé tied with Sabrina Carpenter for the 2nd most number of nominations for a female act at this year's ceremony, falling only behind Lady Gaga, who stood on top as the most among all, with her dozen nods.

Impressively, all members of the K-pop girl group received nominations, with Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa appearing in the Best K-pop category with BTS's Jimin, aespa, and Stray Kids.

All about the popular K-Pop tracks

Rosé's APT created a major buzz among the International fans. The song's idea and lyrics are based on a famous Korean drinking game in which players imitate activities to symbolise various aspects of an apartment. Rosé and Bruno Mars worked together on the song, with Rosé teaching the drinking game to Bruno Mars and his crew.

Jimin from BTS also got nominated for his song Who became a chartbuster in no time. It was released on July 19, 2024, as the lead single from his second studio album Muse by Big Hit Music. With the recent developments, the BTS boys are set to come back with a new album by Spring 2026.
