BTS could potentially make an appearance to the Coachella stage in 2027, with festival organiser Goldenvoice reportedly stepping up efforts to secure the K-pop supergroup for next year's lineup.
According to a report by Hits Daily Double, Goldenvoice is in intense negotiations to book BTS for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The festival is scheduled to return to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, with its 2027 editions set for April 9-11 and April 16-18. The reported pursuit comes as speculation around the festival's headline acts begins to grow. Tame Impala and Dua Lipa are reportedly among the artists expected to headline, while Fred again.. is being considered for a major slot. SZA, Oasis and Radiohead have also been mentioned as possible prominent performers.
Interest in BTS' potential appearance has intensified following Goldenvoice president and CEO Paul Tollett's visit to Seoul earlier this year. Tollett attended BTS' full-group comeback concert at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, where he was seen alongside HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk.
His appearance was particularly notable because it followed reports of discussions between BTS, Goldenvoice and Goldenvoice's parent company, AEG Presents, in January. At the time, reports suggested that HYBE had acquired a stake in Coachella as part of negotiations that could have given AEG Presents promotional rights for BTS' world tour. However, the reported arrangement did not materialise, with rival promoter Live Nation eventually taking charge of the group's tour.
BTS' current touring schedule could also make a Coachella appearance possible. The final currently announced date of the group's ongoing "Arirang" world tour is March 16 in Bulacan, Philippines, leaving roughly three weeks between that concert and Coachella's first weekend.
The possibility has sparked mixed reactions among fans. While some are excited by the prospect of seeing BTS return to one of the world's biggest music festivals, others feel the group has grown beyond Coachella. Some fans have also expressed concerns about the festival's large influencer presence and whether it could affect the availability of tickets for dedicated BTS fans.
Coachella traditionally announces its lineup in September ahead of the following year's festival. Since the 2026 lineup was revealed on September 16, 2025, the 2027 lineup could potentially be announced later this month.
Meanwhile, BTS is continuing its "Arirang" world tour. The group is currently performing four sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, with the North American leg followed by the South American leg beginning in October.
