Fahadh Faasil
Malayalam film actor and producer Fahadh Faasil made a rare appearance at the puja ceremony of an upcoming film in Kerala. The actor, who rarely makes public appearances, was at the center of attention as he greeted and interacted with the team of Abhinav Sundar Nayak's next, featuring actor Naslen. However, it wasn't just his presence that made headlines - Fahadh's phone caught social media's attention.
One might wonder what's so unique about a celebrity's phone. Well, Fahadh sparked conversation for carrying a rather simple-looking phone with a keypad. But while it looked basic, the phone's price will blow your mind.
A quick glance at Fahadh's phone may leave you wondering how the actor uses a simple keypad phone in this era of smart tech. However, the simplicity ends with its look - this is actually a luxury phone.
The phone is made by the handcrafted luxury mobile phone company, Vertu. According to the brand's official website, the Vertu Ascent Retro Classic Keypad Phone, the model Fahadh appears to be using in the video, costs a whopping $11,920 (Rs 10,22,461). Currently, the phone is out of stock on the website, hinting at its limited availability. The price of Vertu phones can go up to $500,000 (Rs 4,29,08,250).
Fahadh will next be seen in director Sudeesh Shankar's film Mareesan. The film also stars Vadivelu in the lead. The makers recently released the first single from the film titled âFa Fa'.
âFa Fa' is a philosophical number with a tinge of humour. The song, written by Madhan Karky and composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, has been sung by Mathichiyam Bala.
The film has generated huge interest ever since the teaser was released. It begins with the superhit song âAaha Inba Nilavinile...', a classic from the iconic Tamil film Mayabazaar, playing in the background as Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu travel through fields, towns, and scenic locations.
At one point, the original track fades, and Vadivelu begins singing the same song. From then on, it becomes evident that there are disagreements between the two lead characters. The song goes off-tune just as the teaser hints at police involvement in the storyline. By the end, Vadivelu is seen singing the last line in a melodious yet entirely new way, almost reinventing the tune.
Although not much has been revealed about the plot, sources close to the production say the film is a travel thriller.
Sources also confirm that filming is complete and post-production is in full swing. Apart from Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, the film also features actors Vivek Prasanna, Renuka, and Sithara, among others.
Mareesan is scheduled to hit theatres on July 25 this year.
