Days after sparking controversy by admitting that she had falsely accused producer Sanjay Kohli of molestation, Shilpa Shinde has once again made headlines. Addressing the backlash surrounding her confession, the actress slammed women from the entertainment industry for not supporting her during a difficult phase, calling them "nonsense."

In an interview with Zoom, she admits she is not guilty of her confessions. She said, "They don't know anything about this. Why they were saying it? I don't know. Defaming him was my only way out. I am not wrong. I am just guilty of lying. It was tit for tat because they had also defamed me."

When asked about not getting support from women in the industry, Shilpa Shinde slammed them and said, "They are nonsense. Those women are nonsense. They don't know what kind of situation women are in. They don't help people who are actually facing the problem. If they had helped then, I would not have been in this situation. They were just behind me. They just accused me of leaving that show. I never compromise with my self-respect."

For the uninitiated, a few days ago, during a conversation with Bharti and Haarsh, Shilpa admitted that she had falsely accused producer Sanjay Kohli of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! of inappropriate behaviour and molestation in 2016. The revelation triggered widespread criticism online, with many social media users demanding legal action against Shilpa.

Reacting to her claim, actress and fellow Bigg Boss 11 contestant Hina Khan slammed her and demanded legal action. Addressing the outrage, Shilpa shared a video statement, saying she did not regret her decision to speak the truth and no longer wanted to live with the guilt of keeping it hidden. In the video, she also stated that she was not concerned about public reactions or criticism and believed she had done the right thing by making the admission.

On the professional front, Shilpa Shinde, who was last seen in her series Margao Files, has been receiving a great response to the project as well as her portrayal of the character. The show also stars Zeenat Aman, Tanaaz Irani, Pallavi Joshi, and Kitu Gidwani. She also reprised the role of Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain Season 2.
