The Independence Day special episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show brought plenty of laughter, with the cast of Operation Safed Sagar joining Kapil Sharma and his team. However, it was Sunil Grover's comic musical performance that emerged as one of the episode's biggest highlights.
Grover performed his latest comic track, Jahaz Tera Bhai Chalayega, leaving the guests and audience entertained with its quirky lyrics and absurd humour. The song soon caught the attention of viewers, and clips from the performance began circulating on social media.
What followed was an unexpected comparison with Guru Randhawa's latest track, Fine Shyt. Several social media users said they found Grover's comic number more entertaining than the Punjabi singer's recently released song.
One user wrote that Grover's track was better than Fine Shyt, while another jokingly suggested that Guru Randhawa should take classes from the comedian. Another fan directly asked Randhawa if he had anything to say about the comparison. Similar comments continued to appear online, with viewers praising Grover's comic timing and musical delivery.
The reactions came amid the wider online conversation around Fine Shyt, which has faced criticism and trolling since its release. Randhawa recently responded to the criticism with a message invoking the Finnish concept of "Sisu", emphasising resilience and determination while saying he was focused on his own path.
Meanwhile, Grover's performance once again highlighted his ability to blend comedy and music. Known for popular comic characters such as Gutthi, Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Devi, the actor-comedian has remained a prominent part of Kapil Sharma's comedy universe. He reunited with Sharma after their long-standing fallout when The Great Indian Kapil Show began streaming on Netflix.
The Independence Day episode featured several members of the Operation Safed Sagar cast, including Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, Arnav Bhasin, Dia Mirza, Prajakta Koli and Amrita Bagchi. Their appearance was packed with comedy and musical moments, with Grover's Jahaz Tera Bhai Chalayega becoming the segment that particularly caught viewers' attention.
While the comparison with Randhawa's Fine Shyt was largely made in jest by social media users, it added another layer to the buzz surrounding Grover's performance. The comedian's ability to turn a deliberately humorous song into a viral moment once again proved why his comic performances continue to resonate with audiences.
