Prime Video has unveiled the first glimpse of Rise and Fall Season 2, with former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag stepping into the role of host. Known for his aggressive batting, humour and candid personality, Sehwag will make his streaming debut with the reality show.
The promo introduces Sehwag to the high-stakes world of Rise and Fall, where power can change hands at any moment. Giving his own spin to the familiar idea that what goes up must eventually come down, the former cricketer highlights the unpredictable nature of the game.
Set across two contrasting spaces the luxurious penthouse and the basement the second season will feature 15 celebrity contestants divided into two groups: the Rulers and the Workers. While the Rulers enjoy the privileges of the penthouse, the Workers will have to navigate life in the basement.
The game will test contestants on strategy, alliances and their ability to anticipate the moves of their rivals. With money and influence at stake, players will have to constantly assess their position and decide when to make a move. The shifting equations mean that no contestant can take their place in the hierarchy for granted. Earlier, Ashneer Grover hosted the show.
For Sehwag, the format's unpredictability is what makes his new hosting stint exciting. Drawing a parallel with cricket, he said, "Cricket has taught me one thing no match is won before the final ball, and Rise and Fall Season 2 takes that unpredictability to another level.
