History
Chaitanya - Authentic Malvani, was started as a small, heartfelt kitchen in Malvan, over three decades ago, and has since then found its place in Mumbai's Dadar for seafood lovers
Founders
The restaurant was started in Malvan in 1992 by Surekha Walke and Nitin Walke, and today is continued by her son, Mitra Walke, while preserving preserving heirloom recipes and coastal flavours
New outlet in Thane
The new Thane outpost is a 90-seater spread across ground and first floor, imagined as a contemporary Malvani home. Earthy tones, natural materials, and wooden elements come together to create a space that feels rooted yet refreshed. The layout opens itself comfortably to both intimate meals and larger gatherings
Food
The new outlet continues to celebrate ingredients such as coconuts, kokum, tamarind, and seasonal seafood which are sourced directly from Malvan.
The menu includes highlights such as Surmai Fry, Bombil Fry, Fried Prawns, Chicken Sukka and Mutton Masala, and the classic fish curry, rice, and solkadhi
