The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday announced its third list of candidates for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, naming 15 nominees from various wards across the city. With this announcement, the party has so far declared candidates for 51 wards.
AAP Mumbai President Preeti Sharma Menon said the party had prioritised grassroots workers and civic-minded individuals while finalising its candidates. She noted that at a time when several political parties are struggling to finalise alliances due to political compulsions, AAP has chosen to accommodate its workers and "civic heroes" by fielding them as candidates for the BMC elections 2026.
Menon also claimed that the party is receiving strong support on the ground, asserting that Mumbaikars are disillusioned with what she described as the BJP's misrule, aided by the Congress and the Shiv Sena. "Mumbai and its citizens deserve better governance," she said.
The third list includes candidates from wards across different parts of the city, reflecting what the party described as a mix of professionals, social workers, and grassroots activists.
