Central Railway on Friday announced 10 additional summer special train services on the Konkan route between Panvel and Sawantwadi, officials said, adding that the decision was taken after increased passenger demand during the holiday season.
The additional services include eight weekly special trains between Panvel and Sawantwadi Road and two special trains between Panvel and Madgaon, an official statement said.
Train No. 01007 Panvel-Sawantwadi Road Weekly Special will depart from Panvel at 6.10 pm every Saturday from 16 May to 6 June 2026 and reach Sawantwadi Road at 4.30 am the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 01008 Sawantwadi Road-Panvel Weekly Special will leave Sawantwadi Road at 7.20 hrs every Saturday during the same period and arrive at Panvel at 5 pm the same day.
The train will halt at Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg and Kudal.
The train will include 1 AC 2-Tier coach, 3 AC 3-Tier coaches, 2 AC 3-Tier Economy coaches, 8 Sleeper Class coaches, 4 General Second Class coaches, 1 Generator Car, 1 Second Seating cum Guard's Brake Van.
The statement said, Train No. 01105 Panvel-Madgaon Weekly Special will leave Panvel at 5.45 am on Monday, 18 May 2026 and arrive at Madgaon at 6.10 pm the same day.
Train No. 01106 Madgaon-Panvel Weekly Special will depart from Madgaon at 4.30 pm on Sunday, 17 May 2026 and reach Panvel at 4 am the next day.
The trains will stop at Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim and Karmali.
The Madgaon special trains will have 3 AC 3-Tier coaches, 11 Sleeper Class coaches, 7 General Second Class coaches and 2 Second Seating cum Guard's Brake Vans.
The railway officials said bookings for Train No. 01007 are already open on special charges.
Reservations for Train No. 01105 will open from 16 May 2026 at all computerised reservation centres and on the IRCTC official website.
Passengers can also book unreserved tickets through the UTS system and use the RailOne app for ticket bookings and railway services, officials said.
They said that railways advice passengers to check detailed train timings and halt schedules on the National Train Enquiry System (NTES).
