A woman railway pointsman has accused a senior railway official at Kalyan station of sending her inappropriate WhatsApp messages and trying to get close to her. Based on the complaint, the Kalyan Government Railway Police (GRP) registered an FIR against the official on Monday.
After filing the complaint, the woman approached Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Railway Kangar Sena, following this, MNS workers confronted Kumar at Kalyan station. The confrontation allegedly escalated into an assault and the police later intervened.
According to police, the 34-year-old complainant working at Kalyan railway station has accused Ashutosh Rohini Kumar, 50, deputy station master, of inappropriate behaviour. The case was registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Police said the incident took place on March 2 at Kalyan station when the woman was on duty from midnight to 8 am and had contacted Kumar on WhatsApp seeking Holi leave. After responding to her request, Kumar allegedly asked, "Which sweet will you feed me?" When she replied that she would give him Holi sweets, he allegedly asked, "Will you bring it to my house?"
The woman said that she found the messages inappropriate and believed Kumar was attempting to get close to her. She allegedly warned him but remained quiet for several months. However, she told the police that Kumar again attempted to get close to her, prompting her to register a case with the GRP.

The complaint triggered an altercation outside the station master's office, which was contained by Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel. Both individuals were taken to the police station, and a further investigation is underway.'
