BEST announces route changes, AC bus expansions for several services from March 1, check details here

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) on Friday announced several changes to its bus services across Mumbai. The revisions will come into effect from March 1, 2026.

The changes include route diversions, short terminations, and conversion of selected routes into air-conditioned (AC) services, an official statement said.

It said that the aim is to improve operational efficiency and reduce congestion in busy areas.

The BEST also shared details of the changes being made

Route A-1 to skip Bandra Reclamation

Bus Route A-1, which runs between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Santacruz Depot, will no longer take the loop via Bandra Reclamation Bus Station and Bandra Bus Station (West).

Instead, the service will run directly from Mahim Koliwada to Bandra Cinema via Swami Vivekanand Road in both directions.

Route A-6 to Terminate at Electric House

Route A-6 currently operates between Backbay Depot and Tata Power Station. From March, the stretch between Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk and Backbay Depot will be cancelled.

The bus will now terminate at Colaba Depot / Electric House.

Route A-22 to Start from Jijamata Udyan

Route A-22, which operates between Vijay Vallabh Chowk and Majas Depot, will now begin from Jijamata Udyan.

The revised service will operate only between Jijamata Udyan and Majas Depot.

Route 69 Shortened up to Sewri

Route 69 currently runs between Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk (Museum) and Wadala Depot. From March 1, it will terminate at Prabodhankar Thackeray Udyan (Sewri) Bus stop.

The service will operate only between Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk and Prabodhankar Thackeray Udyan.

Route A-101 Extended to Mahatma Phule Mandai

Route A-101, which runs between World Trade Centre and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, will be extended up to Mahatma Phule Mandai.

The bus will travel via Hutatma Chowk and Mumbai University to CSMT. On the return journey, it will run via D.N. Road and Siddharth College.

The revised route will now operate between World Trade Centre and Mahatma Phule Mandai.

Route 411 Diverted in Chandivali Area

Route 411, operating between Wadala Depot and Sangharsh Nagar (Chandivali), will no longer run via Sant Kabir (60 Feet) Road.

Instead, it will be diverted via K.K. Krishnan Marg (90 Feet Road) and Sant Rohidas Marg.

Route A-415 to End at SEEPZ Bus Station

Route A-415, which operates between Agarkar Chowk (Andheri East) and SEEPZ Gaon, will now terminate at SEEPZ Bus Station.

The revised service will run between Agarkar Chowk and SEEPZ Bus Station only.

Conversion to Air-Conditioned (AC) Services

BEST has also announced that several routes will be converted into AC services-

A-103: R.C. Church to Kamala Nehru Udyan

A-224: Shastri Nagar to Borivali Bus Station (West)

A-235: Andheri Station (West) via Millat Nagar

A-248: Andheri Station (West) to Ramesh Nagar

A-254: Andheri Station (West) to Veera Desai Road (Extended)

A-361: Mahul Village to Kurla Bus Station (East)

A-492: Majas Depot to Bhoomi Acres (Thane)

Purpose of the changes

According to BEST officials, the revisions aim to reduce overlapping routes, improve punctuality, ease congestion in busy city centres, optimise operational costs and provide more comfortable AC travel options.
