Malabar Hill Nature Trail shut temporarily after tree collapse: BMC

The Nature Trail at Malabar Hill in South Mumbai has been temporarily closed after a large tree fell on Friday morning on the popular walkway, prompting authorities to carry out safety inspections and repair work.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

BMC teams rush to the spot

Soon after receiving information about the tree fall, officials and workers from the BMC's Parks Department and Water Engineering Department reached the site and began clearing operations.

The civic body said on X that efforts to remove the fallen tree are currently underway.

As a precautionary measure, the Nature Trail has been temporarily shut to visitors until repair work and a detailed safety inspection of the area are completed.

Officials said the closure is necessary to ensure public safety and to assess whether any other trees or parts of the trail may pose a risk.

Citizens urged to cooperate

In a message posted on social media platform X, the BMC appealed to citizens to cooperate with the temporary closure.

The civic body stated that the trail will remain closed until immediate repairs are completed and the area is declared safe for public use.
