Several families relocated to the De-Abero Building in Prabhadevi ahead of Haaji Noorani building's imminent demolition near Prabhadevi railway station, have alleged that they continue to struggle without essential civic amenities months after shifting into their new homes.
Residents claim that despite taking possession of their flats, a number of basic facilities promised at the time of relocation are either incomplete or functioning inadequately. Among the major concerns raised are lack of water supply, lack of parking space allotment for four wheelers and non-functional fans inside completely closed lifts.
"We were told that all facilities would be available when we moved in. However, even after several months, we are facing daily hardships. The matter of parking space for our four wheelers is still not solved," said Manish Shirodkar, a resident of the building.
According to them, repeated representations to concerned authorities and stakeholders have yielded little progress. They allege that while they have fulfilled all relocation formalities, the promised quality of living has yet to materialise.
"Despite this being a MHADA building and even after us getting house allotment letters, we still have not received OC. That's why we are forced to rely on water tankers," said Poornima Gurav, another resident.
"We are working round the clock to solve all issues at multiple buildings. These problems will also be taken care of immediately," said Shivaji Davbhat, additional collector.
