One of mid-day's reporters took a train from CSMT to Dadar around 7.30 pm and reached Dadar by 7.46 pm. Platform 9A was so crowded that people were seen trying to board an arriving train even when it was travelling at a significant speed. Passengers who wanted to get off at Dadar barely had five seconds to deboard as a crowd of impatient commuters rushed into the train.
A commuter getting off at Dadar said, "I regret taking the train. I was travelling with two bags, and while getting off, a bag got stuck in the doorway; the other commuters who were trying to get into the same compartment started abusing me. The train was 20 minutes late, which can be seen on normal days as well, but the trickle-down effect from the delays earlier in the day."
A college student travelling to Churchgate said, "An Ambernath to CSMT local train which arrived in Thane at 10.50 am was halted between Mulund and Nahur for one and a half hours. It departed Thane at 11.05 am and was later stuck between the stations." Passengers were clueless as there were no announcements inside the train about the situation ahead, the student claimed.
A man died while crossing tracks trying to catch a train at Bhandup Station. The deceased, Sahil Thite, had got down from platform no. 4 to catch a train from platform no 3.
