Mumbai is likely to witness a hot and humid day on Sunday, with very little chance of rain expected throughout the day, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum temperature is likely to remain around 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be 28 degrees Celsius.
The city recorded minimal rainfall in the 24-hour period between 8 am on July 10 and 8 am on July 12.
According to the latest satellite imagery, monsoon cloud cover over Mumbai has reduced significantly. Weather experts attribute this to the southwest monsoon advancing further into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh.
With almost no rain expected, weather forecasting agency IMD has placed Mumbai and Thane under a green alert, indicating the possibility of light rainfall with no major weather-related disruptions expected.
The city will witness two high tides on Sunday, with the first and higher tide expected at 10:24 am, when the sea level is likely to reach 4.27 metres. The second high tide is scheduled for 10:00 pm, with a height of 3.69 metres. Authorities have advised residents, particularly those in low-lying coastal areas, to remain cautious during high tide hours, especially if rainfall intensifies, as it could lead to waterlogging in vulnerable locations.

Despite the subdued rainfall over the past day, authorities have advised citizens to stay updated with weather bulletins as monsoon conditions can change rapidly. Commuters are also urged to plan their travel accordingly, especially during high tide hours if rainfall intensifies.
Regular spells of rain have also made the air quality across Mumbai and its suburbs a lot better. The city's air quality remained in the 'satisfactory ' category on Sunday morning.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board's Sameer App, Mumbai recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 59, indicating minimal health impact on residents.
Among key locations in the city, Bandra Kurla Complex recorded an AQI of 62, Borivali East 65, and Byculla 19, reflecting clean air conditions.
Andheri East reported a relatively higher AQI of 45, while Kherwadi stood at 51, Byculla at 34 and Deonar at 96.
In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Thane recorded an AQI of 51, Navi Mumbai 49 and Kalyan touched 67, placing it in the moderate category.
