Tata Power has been announced as the electricity provider for the newly inaugurated Mumbai Metro-3 Aqua Line, the city's first fully underground metro corridor, stretching 33.5 km from Aarey to Cuffe Parade.

The project marks a significant milestone in Tata Power's century-long journey of powering Mumbai's transit systems, from suburban railways to modern metros.

With the Metro-3 line now operational, Tata Power continues its legacy by supplying electricity not only to Metro Line-1 but also to this crucial new corridor.

To support the energy demands of the Metro-3 corridor, Tata Power has deployed a connected load of approximately 40MW, supplied via its Dharavi, Mahalaxmi, and Saki receiving stations. The power is transmitted through 110 kV lines, backed by a dual busbar system at each station, ensuring an uninterrupted and reliable supply.

Combined with the 8MW load for Mumbai Metro Line-1, Tata Power now supports a total metro network load of 48 MW, reflecting its robust infrastructure and capacity to meet Mumbai's growing transportation power needs.

As Mumbai Metro-3 begins to link major business districts, residential zones, and transit hubs, Tata Power's reliable and scalable energy solutions will play a key role in delivering safe, smooth, and efficient travel for the city's commuters.

This development cements Tata Power's role as a constant in Mumbai's transit transformation, connecting past, present, and future through sustainable energy.
