Maharashtra is experiencing an intense weather recently, with several districts in state recording very high temperatures as several parts of country reel under heatwave conditions.
According to a weather bulletin, Amravati district in Maharashtra has recorded the highest maximum temperature on Saturday with 44.4 degrees Celsius, indicating strong heatwave conditions in the region.
With 45.4 degrees Celsius, highest temperature in India was on Saturday recorded at Uttar Pradesh's Banda district followed by Nirmal-Dasturabad in Telangana with 44.5 degrees Celsius.
The Vidarbha region continue to face the hot weather conditions and cities including Nagpur, Chandrapur, Akola, and Wardha have reported temperatures above 43 degrees Celsius.
Many districts on Saturday recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the coastal areas under the Konkan region, including Mumbai and surrounding districts, are experiencing relatively high temperatures ranging between 33 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius. However, humidity levels remain high, making conditions uncomfortable.
The weather department's data showed that in Pune there was a possibility of thunderstorms with lightning and very light rainfall. The maximum and minimum temperatures were expected to be around 37 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively.
The lowest minimum temperature of 21.4 degrees Celsius was on Saturday recorded in Malegaon, the weather bulletin stated.
Several parts of India are witnessing an intense heatwave, with temperatures crossing 45 degrees Celsius in some regions.
According to the data, multiple cities across states in Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have recorded some of the highest temperatures in the country.

In an advisory, issued by the weather department earlier this week, below are the expected impacts from heatwave conditions and hot and humid weather.
- Vulnerable people may take necessary precaution.
- It is advised to take precautionary measures for hot weather while going outside during peak hours of the day.
- Heat cramp, heat rash likely during peak hours of the day.
Action suggested:
- Avoid prolonged heat exposure.
- Stay hydrated. Drink sufficient water even if not feeling thirsty to avoid dehydration.
- Wear light weight, light colored, loose, cotton clothes.
- Cover your head: use a wet cloth, hat or umbrella while going out during peak hours.
- Caution workers to avoid direct sunlight during the peak hours.
- Schedule strenuous jobs to cooler times of the day.
- Increasing the frequency and length of rest breaks for outdoor activities.
- Recognise the signs of heat stroke, heat rash or heat cramps such as weakness, dizziness, headache, nausea, sweating and seizures. If you feel faint or ill, see a doctor/ hospital immediately.
- Farmers are advised to continue irrigation activities.
