Central Railway will introduce the first daily train service between Maharashtra's Beed and Pune, strengthening rail connectivity between the Marathwada region and Pune and fulfilling a long-standing demand from passengers.
A press release issued on Wednesday by Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Dr Swapnil Nila stated that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, MP Bajrang Sonavane, legislator Sandeep Kshirsagar, and other dignitaries will flag off the Beed-Pune Inaugural Special train from Beed railway station on Thursday.
The inaugural special, train number 01401, will run from Beed to Pune and halt at Amalner Bhandyache, New Ashti, Narayandoho, Ahilyanagar, Shrigonda Road, Daund Chord Line, and Uruli.
The train will have two AC 2-Tier coaches, three AC 3-Tier coaches, four Sleeper Class coaches, four General Second Class coaches, one Second Seating-and-Guard's Brake Van and a generator van.
The regular service of Train No 11434/11433 Pune-Beed-Pune Daily Express will commence shortly. Central Railway said detailed timings and stoppages for the regular service will be notified separately.
The introduction of the service follows the commissioning of the Ahilyanagar-Beed section of the Ahilyanagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath New Line Project.

According to Central Railway, the service will provide a faster, safer, and more economical mode of transport, while reducing travel time compared with road travel. It is also expected to support the local economy, tourism, and the movement of agricultural produce.
Beed is a predominantly agrarian district in Marathwada and is known for its cultural and religious significance. It is home to the historic Kankaleshwar Temple and is located close to pilgrimage centres such as the Parli Vaijnath Jyotirlinga and Ambajogai.
Pune is a major educational, industrial, and IT hub and an important railway junction connecting Marathwada and other regions with western Maharashtra. The city attracts students, professionals, traders, and tourists from Beed and neighbouring areas.
Central Railway said the new service will provide the first direct train connectivity between Beed and Pune and strengthen the integration of Marathwada with western Maharashtra.
The railway zone said the service will also provide passengers from Beed with onward connectivity to other parts of the country through Pune.
Central Railway said the introduction of the Beed-Pune service marks a significant step towards improving rail connectivity in Marathwada and supporting socio-economic development in the Beed-Pune region.
