In a busy corner of Lower Parel lies Karobar. You can often miss it since it is a small, dingy space but when you step inside it's a cute restobar made. Usually filled with corporate crowds, it has enough seatings for groups of 8 people. As someone constantly on the lookout for budget-friendly places to grab a drink and snacks, this one is perfect for my roommate and I. It has two floors, with a separate smoking balcony overlooking the busy Worli streets.

On Mondays, you may get 1+1 on an LIIT and on Tuesdays you could get a similar offer on Tequila. I am almost friends with the servers (guilty of going there too much). But it's not a place you will notice unless you are truly observing every shop on the street. The signature of Karobar is its food. There are some awesome chefs who don't take their jobs lightly at all. It doesn't look like it but everything on their menu, especially their chakli with green chutney, is fabulous to the tongue.

I love their soupy wontons and their Nasi Goreng. The quantity is good enough for two people and they really put in an effort into the plating. All in good relations to your wallet. The next time you are around Phoenix Palladium or Worli, do give the place a shot. Remember to not judge a book by its cover.
