Jisoo, one of K-pop's biggest stars and BLACKPINK's member, has found herself at the center of controversy. On April 16, reports emerged that Kim Jung Hoon, Jisoo's older brother, had been arrested on charges of sexually molesting a female broadcast jockey (BJ). In response, on April 20, attorney Eun Hyun Ho of Kim & Chang, the legal representative for Jisoo's agency BLISSOO, released an official statement clarifying that both the artist and the company are not connected to the matter.

Jisoo denies family link to matter

Jisoo's legal representative has issued an official statement addressing recent speculation surrounding a family-related controversy. "The issue currently being raised has nothing to do with the artist or BLISSOO," said attorney Eun Hyun Ho of the Seoul-based law firm Kim & Chang, who represents the agency.

The agency stated, "The matter currently being raised is entirely unrelated to the artist and BLISSOO, and the numerous contents circulating online are unverified speculation or clearly false."

He added that Jisoo began her trainee period at a young age and has lived apart from her family for a long time, making it unlikely that she was aware of or involved in the individual's private matters. The lawyer also denied rumors that the agency was jointly established by Jisoo and the family member or that he was involved in its management.

The statement further confirmed, "BLISSOO and the artist are not providing any financial or legal support to this individual." The agency warned that it would pursue legal action against the spread of misinformation, stating, "We will take a firm stance against malicious or repetitive posts and their authors without any leniency or settlement."

About the controversy

Seoul's Gangnam Police Station reportedly began investigating Kim Jung Hoon after a female streamer accused him of non-consensual physical contact. The incident allegedly occurred after he purchased what is referred to as a "date ticket." Reports stated that police arrested him on April 16 as part of their investigation, though details remain unclear.

Another woman, who claims to be Kim Jung Hoon's wife, has also come forward with allegations. She alleges that she endured years of physical abuse, emotional mistreatment, and sexual violence during their relationship.

On April 17, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office dismissed the arrest warrant sought by police against the man believed to be Kim Jung Hoon. The decision was reportedly based on insufficient evidence to substantiate the charges at that stage.
