BTS members V and Jungkook have reportedly become targets of disturbing AI-generated deepfake content circulating across social media platforms, sparking outrage among fans worldwide. The controversy began after several TikTok accounts started sharing manipulated images and videos featuring the two idols in suggestive and partially edited intimate scenarios created using artificial intelligence tools.
According to reports, the edited visuals included hyper-realistic AI-generated images portraying the BTS stars in half-naked and sexually suggestive poses. Fans were particularly alarmed because many of the clips appeared convincing enough to mislead viewers into believing they were authentic. The issue escalated further when users allegedly began posting tutorials teaching others how to create similar edits using AI software and face-manipulation applications.
The trend quickly triggered massive backlash within the BTS fandom, ARMY, with many accusing content creators of crossing ethical and legal boundaries. Several fans argued that the manipulated images amount to digital exploitation and violate the idols' privacy and dignity. Many noted that while AI tools are becoming more accessible and advanced, they are also enabling the creation of realistic fake images without consent. Although BigHit Music has not issued a specific statement regarding the viral edits involving V and Jungkook, the company has previously confirmed that it actively pursues legal action against malicious posts, defamation, privacy violations and harmful online content targeting BTS members. In a recent legal update, the agency reiterated its "zero-tolerance" stance toward activities that damage the artists' reputation and mental well-being.
As discussions continue online, fans remain vocal in demanding stronger legal protections for artists against AI-generated manipulation and digital abuse. Many believe the incident highlights the urgent need for stricter global regulations surrounding deepfake technology and online harassment involving celebrities.
