Suga
BTS member SUGA has been on a streak with donations and goodwill initiatives. The K-pop Idol had recently made a huge donation for Autistic children, and yet again, he added more to the donation amount. SUGA donated an additional 1 BILLION KRW to Severance Children's Hospital, and his name is now officially featured on the hospital's gift board.
Earlier, on June 23rd, Severance Hospital launched the project and hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the 'Min Yoon-gi Treatment Centre'. The centre, named after Suga's birth name, lies in the hospital's Seodaemun area in Seoul. Suga graciously provided 5 billion won (about ) toward the development of this institution. These monies will be utilised to provide customised therapies, perform devoted research, and execute initiatives aimed at increasing the social independence of ASD individuals.
Suga met with Professor Chun Geun Ah, Head of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, in November 2024, and saw the need for a dedicated centre that would provide long-term support to people with Autism Spectrum Disorder for a period of ten years, thereby improving symptom outcomes. Following the meeting, he expressed his willingness to give to the cause.
Looking at the dedication, fans were in awe of SUGA. A fan calculated the amount that the K-pop singer has donated so far. Fan wrote, "He donated 6 billion won in total, but his donation is not everything he's done. He also volunteered at the hospital by working with autistic children for months. According to Professor Cheon, he was dedicated to the cause: read a 500-page book about autism, asked her complex questions, encouraged the kids to perform and learn how to play on instruments and for many of them, he was their favourite teacher."
Another one added that SUGA is the true definition of impact, "His heart is just as powerful as his music - yoongi doesn't give for attention, he gives because it's who he is. true definition of impact."
One of them also added, "Yoongi is an angel of hope, restoring faith in humanity. His kindness and support mean more than words can say. He made a real impact. Yoongi's generous donation will help improve therapies and support children and families living with autism every day. I'm so proud of him."
Fans have been eagerly waiting for BTS to make their grand comeback. RM, the band's lead, had recently revealed that they will be making their comeback in the coming year and also have a World tour. The tour data highlighted India with Mumbai on its list.
